Olivia Wilde in The Longest Week {Style Icon}

Have you guys seen The Longest Week?  It's a quirky romantic dra-medy starring Jason Bateman and {the gorgeous} Olivia Wilde.  I'm by nooo means a movie critic, but I will say that if you don't like Wes Anderson films, you will NOT like this film {imitation is the highest form of flattery?}.  While I couldn't really fall completely in love with this movie because of the bad taste that Wes Anderson always leaves in my mouth -- I would still watch this movie again.  Why? Oivia Wilde's style in this movie .... tailored, slightly playful, minimalist, monochromatic (mostly taupes, blacks, and creams), with a nod to the 60's.  And the cherry on top of her perfect wardrobe ... I've never seen a a cat eye executed so perfectly.  I also love that she doesn't have an expansive wardrobe in this movie -- her character must wear the same classic black chelsea boots everyday, she rewears the black cape in almost every scene, and she's never in a shot without her eyeliner done.  Rewearing the same stuff over and over is more truthful to what women actually do, but it never comes off boring or blah.

I'm officially growing out my hair to copy her hairstyle in this movie.  Best bangs ever.

Feast your eyes & do yourself a favor and rent this movie!

Keri Russel {Style Icon}

I've been a fan of Keri Russell since Felicity and I even stuck by my girl when she did the post-breakup-hair-chop on the show.  Lately, she's been making a resurgence since her new show "The Americans" has become such a hit.  Seriously, if you haven't watched it yet, you should.  Keri plays a Russian spy living deep undercover in the U.S. during 1981 at the height of the Cold War {bonus, her husband on the show played by Matthew Rhys is pretty cute}.

Anyway -- this past year I've fallen back in love with Keri Russell and she's quickly becoming a favorite style icon of mine.  Here are four reasons why you should probably gather fashion inspo from Felicity ...

1 // Ten years after the end of Felicity and she's still true to her tomboy roots.  Keri Russell shows us that laid back casual can still look polished and cool and that you don't have to dress to the nines to look good.  Ripped jeans, button-up shirts, oversized sweaters, and a stand-by pair of oxfords are all you need.

2 // But when Russell wants to make a statement -- whoa momma ... does anyone look this good in an all leather dress?!  And if an all leather dress is too intimidating (yup!) then you can pull off this look with a pair of leather pants or a leather jacket instead!

3 // Somewhere in between "laid back, tomboy chic" and "leather, leather, leather" is Keri's "polished in a blazer" look.  This is proof that a good blazer goes with anything and can totally pull a look together.

4 // And lastly, perhaps the most important take-away fashion inspiration from Russell is that when you're standing in front of your closet before a night out and have no idea what to where -- all black is your answer.  You'll rarely see Russell on the red carpet in anything but all black -- dresses, jumpsuits, or separates -- doesn't matter as long as it's all black.

Jamie Beck {Style Icon}

I've been a follower of Jamie Beck's photography blog for a few years now, back when it used to be From Me to You tumblr and is now Ann Street Studio.  I instantly fell in love with her sense of style and her beautiful photographs and cinemagraphs (moving photographs) that she and her photographer husband, Kevin Burg, created.  Her style is vintage-inspired (from the 40's and 50's), chic, glamorous at times, and always timeless.  She's never trendy and instead invests in classic pieces that will be relevant for years to come.  If you were to ask me to pick one style icon to gather inspiration from for the rest of my life- it would hands down be Jamie Beck.  Below are ten reasons why ...

1// She actually looks good sitting on top of a horse, camel, or bike, which is seriously hard to do ...

2// She can pull off a hat better than most anyone...

3// She wears the most perfect red lips on an everyday basis (no seriously, everyday) ...

* The color of red that Jamie wears is NARS Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

4// She rocks a swimsuit like nobody's business and makes a one-piece suit sexy again!  I love the 1950's vibe of these swimsuits!

example of a cinemagraph!

5// She often looks better than the celebrities she's photographing on the red carpet.  Let's talk evening wear- she always keeps it classic, glamorous, and timeless ...

6// Anyone can look glamorous in evening wear you say?  Maybe, but she also looks glamorous in her everyday/casual looks.  These looks just reinforce the fact that we should all be investing in quality of pieces over quantity.  I absolutely love the vintage feel of all these outfits ...

7// Her wedding gown- not trendy or flashy, just perfection ...

8// And speaking of her husband- he's some serious arm candy.  These two together are one stylish and talented couple ...

9// She's traveled around the world and never looks jet-lagged (how?!) and always mirrors the style, trends, and culture of the place she's in ...

On the move ...

On safari...

In Paris ...

In Morocco ...

In St. John ...

10// And most importantly- she's an insanely talented, creative, and independent business woman, who does what she loves everyday and takes amazing photographs to share with the world.  I admire this most of all, above the fashion and clothes, and aspire to be a little more like Jamie Beck everyday.  Plus, her best fashion statement is her camera ....
