Start it with a bang

Very first blog post! Let's start out with a good one...

With holiday parties just around the corner, every girl should have a Little Black Dress in her closet to pull out when nothing else works. Holiday parties or not, these LBD will work for any occasion. Here's a roundup of my favorite Top 10 LBDs.

1. DVF {$325} :: A bit pricey, but an ultimate classic, as DVF will never go out of style.  The longer sleeves and lace detail sweeten up this bodycon dress and balance out the shorter length.

2. Kate Spade {$428} :: Even pricier, but this Kate Spade dress will be in your wardrobe forever.  You could dress it up with heels and sparkly jewelry, or dress it down for a more casual party, with flats and a cardigan!

3. Bailey44 {$148} :: Sheath dresses are super comfortable and really versatile.  I love this one by Bailey 44, especially the ruching around the waist to hide any flaws.  I own a similar version of this dress by Bailey44, in red, and honestly wear it out to dinner at least once a month!

4. Erin Fetherston {$275} :: I'm waiting for this dress to go on sale and then I'm going to snatch it up! I love love love the emerald green cap sleeves and cutaway waist of this dress.

5. Erin Fetherston ($165 ON SALE!} :: Another Erin Fetherston dress.  I love the extra details she adds to her dresses to add interest- this time it's white lace and sequined top.  You still get the look of a strapless dress, but can still wear a regular bra (with clear straps) underneath!

6. Stop Staring {$162} :: I own and LOVE this dress.  This is the ultimate pin-up style LBD.  Stop Staring makes so many great pinup style LBDs that it's hard to choose (here, here, here, or here). And this sexy one-shoulder red dress is too good not to include.

7. Trashy Diva {$163} :: Another great vintage pin-up style dress. I love the detailing of the top, and you could switch out the black belt that comes with the dress for something more colorful or a leopard print belt.  This dress also comes in a swing skirt style, if pencil dresses aren't your thing.

8. Free People {$98} :: A slip dress with a crochet overlay gives this dress a bohemian feel.  You could dress it down with black tights and ankle boots or dress it up with a pair of ankle-strapped heeled sandals.

9. French Connection {$115} :: The cutaway lace sleeves and waist show just enough skin to be sexy, without crossing into skanky territory.  The shorter length of this dress makes it a great LBD for going out on a Friday night or maybe a bachelorette party. ;)

10. Vivienne Westwood {$283} ::  The draping of this dress adds movement to a classic LBD.  The long sleeves and longer length of this dress makes it totally appropriate for any toned down events you might have to attend.  I love Vivienne Westwood.  I can in no way afford anything VW, but I often find myself window shopping most of her pieces whenever I'm trying to find a dress for an event.
